Confidence Through Photography
Supporting people with mental health and anxiety through the medium of photography.
Neil Catley suffered with agoraphobia for many years, until his mother bought him a camera to give him an interest and get out.
Neil found that this helped him manage his mental health and founded CTP in 2019 to help support others.
Our mission is to build a mutual support group regardless of what camera or phone you use, we even have loan cameras available.
CTP organise photo walks in and around Coventry. We have previously had days in Birmingham, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stoneleigh village and Kenilworth.
We have recently had an exhibition at the LTB in Coventry, featuring our members work. This was supported through Coventry Council and Lottery funding.
All our upcoming events are posted on our Facebook pages.
We try to plan these to be inclusive for all abilities and personal requirements.
We can offer 1:1 support if you need technical advise or set you up on a camera to point and shoot. We even assist with phone cameras where we can.
We focus on the person, not the camera
Neil Catley is a self trained local photographer who is well known as 'the Bailey Lane Photographer'. He started by taking wildlife photographs, after his mother bought him his first camera. The local wildlife trust asked him to be their chosen photographer.
Neil has since focused on street and food photography and has had an exhibition of his work in Royal Leamington Spa.
Confidence Through Photography is supported by a committee consisting of Adam Redshaw, Rebecca Whelan and Keith Brandon.
